Now Country for All Women

A moving symbol for an emerging independent music festival

NCFAW is a concert series promoting emerging artists from a variety of genres in Zurich running for multiple years. Growing out of an artist collective with DIY roots, they approached Skala with the need of a systematic, multi-year identity that stays true to their activist roots, while giving it a distinct and recognizable visual language.

With its iconic tongue in cheek name and mostly digital promotion it became clear that the brand would need a moving representation of the platforms name, vouching for progress and inclusion as its core concept.

The combination of a (gender) star and a clock, moving as opposites create the symbiosis of these ideas. Through the contrasting geometrical form of those elements a platform with interchanging light sources, representing the upcoming artist’s stage and the dissolving of boundaries, is referenced.
