A visual language for architectural inquiry
We were commissioned by ETH Zurich’s Department of Architecture (D-ARCH) to create a visual identity for its lectures and events. The challenge was to develop a visual language that is both rigorous and playful, timeless and dynamic. We responded with a flexible, grid-based design system that generates countless unique key visuals while maintaining a strong and recognizable identity. Resembling architectural silhouettes, it combines bold visual presence with refined attention to detail and systematic construction, providing D-ARCH with a visual language of enduring clarity and infinite adaptability—reflecting the department’s culture of design excellence, critical inquiry, and experimentation.
